Super Goose is holding Atleplase (tissue plasminogen activator, rt-PA) which is a clot busting medicine. When patient has ischemic stroke, a blood clot blocks an artery supplying blood to the brain. tPA works by dissolving blood clot and improve blood flow into the brain. We witnessed the magic of this medicine. Some stroke patients immediately recover within 30 minutes after given tPA.
Sadly, less than 10% of patients received this medicine because they came to the hospital too late :( If the patient came after 270 minutes after experiencing stroke, they would not get this medicine.
